Program cost
The program fee pays for clinician time: your initial assessment, the prescribing decision, your dose schedule, and your follow-up reviews. The medication itself is a separate pharmacy bill.
What you pay for
Your initial assessment is the longest appointment and determines your entire treatment plan. Next comes the prescribing decision and a written schedule for increasing your dose gradually.
Then your reviews. The number of reviews, how often they happen, and whether you can message between appointments is where clinics differ most. This is the specific detail worth asking about when you compare prices.
A very low headline price usually signals fewer reviews, no messaging between visits, or medication costs hidden from the quote. Learn more about medication pricing, insurance coverage, and medical weight loss programs.
Comparing
Number of reviews, whether messaging between appointments is covered, and whether the assessment is charged separately.
Program fee and pharmacy price are different transactions. A single quoted figure is usually hiding one of them.
Weight management is long term. A monthly figure compared over a year tells you more than the first month does.
Some plans reimburse part of the clinician time even where they will not fund the medication. Worth asking.
Value
The real difference between a supply service and a program shows up in month two or three, when a dose needs to be held, a side effect needs managing, or your medication needs adjusting. That is what the fee is actually buying.
It is fair to ask what happens if treatment is not working, whether switching to a different molecule is included, and who you reach when something feels wrong on a Friday night. Explore physician-supervised care, non-surgical management, and free assessment options.

What is included, what is extra, and how to compare clinics.
Written breakdown before I paid anything. The cheaper place I had rung would not put anything in writing.
Not the cheapest. Once I worked out the cheap one included two reviews total, it stopped being a comparison.
Paused for three months for personal reasons. Handled properly rather than me just stopping.
The value showed up in month three when my dose needed holding and someone actually answered.
